| Description: | MIDIbot is a device based on AI and Markov chains. It listens to your MIDI notes and responds by elaborating on your music. In Manual mode, you control the Record button yourself and decide when to start the elaboration. The bot can generate music for the same duration as your input, or it can generate music continuously in an infinite loop 🔁, giving you the freedom to stop it or play again whenever you like. Note durations can either be taken from your input notes (Captured mode) or set to a fixed duration that you choose ⏱️. The generated music can have up to three layers of complexity 🎛️ • If you select 1, you get a single line of chords or notes 🎹 • With 2 or 3, additional independent lines are added, based on a separation of the input data For example, in a piano piece, the system attempts to divide the input into different layers: a left-hand bass line, chords, and a melody. Each layer can have a different rhythm, creating a more complex and dynamic result ✨. Creativity, instead, is related to the order of the Markov chains ⚙️. Creativity determines how much past musical context the model uses when selecting the next note. Lower creativity values use higher-order Markov chains, meaning the system relies on a longer musical memory and generates results that stay closer to the original input. Higher creativity values use lower-order chains, reducing the memory of past notes and allowing more variation and unpredictability in the generated music 🎲.
